FoveaPro Feature Measurement

Measurements on individual features within an image

Image measurement includes the measurement of individual features (to determine size, shape, position, color and density) as well as aggregate measurements such as sterological measurements or statistical distributions. Fovea Pro includes complete tools for both of these classes of measurement.

Stereological grids

Fovea Pro can generate a wide variety of grids - straight lines, circles, cycloids, random or regular arrays of points - for either manual or automatic counting and stereological interpretation of volume, surface and length. The software includes an implementation of the disector for unbiased counting in volumes.

Outlined cells

Separation of features for measurement is often the goal of image processing. Fovea Pro has extensive tools for feature delineation.

Labelled features

Fovea Pro can measure more than 55 feature-specific parameters (size, shape, position, color and density). You can label the image, create histograms and regression plots, and save all of the data to disk for spreadsheet analysis. Both spatial and density calibrations can be saved in disk files for re-use.

Feature distribution

In addition to the standard measures, you can automatically classify features using a recipe file. This powerful tool provides Fovea Pro with analytical capabilities rivalling the most expensive expert systems. You can read more on automatic classification.
